I was kind of in a hurry to take a photo of the day since I was running out of time. Oh well.
We had to paint as much boards as possible again today. Luckily we had cake and chocolate milk to eat. Thanks to a certain someone who's birthday was around this week!
This cutie pie is always sleeping most of the time!
I had my math and bio stuff all over the floor! I'm messy when it comes to studying... sometimes hehe
There were so many kids today! More than any of our past events actually. Favorite part of the day? Cooking pancakes! :D
I stayed after school today to help prepare for this month's event. The event is tomorrow for only 2 hours. Actually, my whole day tomorrow would've been a BUSY day. From 10 a.m to 12 a.m would be the event and then from 1 p.m to 8 p.m would've been my training to serve for an upcoming Youth for Christ Camp. I REALLY wanted to go for the training, but my mom decided for me to stay at home for good reasons. So I am only allowed to go for YMCA's event tomorrow but not the training. It would've been great to experience my first camp of serving, but I guess that time would have to wait. I'm glad that they understand though, since I keep backing down with some of the events/meetings. Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to go without anything stopping me.
When I was little, I used to love to play sports. Well I still do today but I rarely play anymore. I don't really have the time or maybe it's just me complaining? Hmm, I remember playing a hockey game on this certain day in elementary. On one match, I blocked my hockey stick with my teacher's hockey stick. He said I was pretty good which helped boosted up my energy! Hehe, those were the days.
I got these little alphabet beads back in my YMCA Leader's Conference Camp. Here's the post if you are interested in reading that. Hmm, I really need to find a time to finish my recent drawing.. -sigh- Maybe I can draw during my spring break and hopefully get some of my birthday gifts done for my friends.
I made this on last year's Palm Sunday. I still have it taped to my wall but the tape's becoming less stickier now. I'll renew that tape this weekend.
I bought this pencil from the dollar store back in junior high. I haven't used it in so long so I thought I should at least make use of it by making it my picture/subject of the day.
It's hard not to know what time it is, especially when you are so used to looking at your own watch to keep yourself punctual for daily work and activities. Unfortunately for me, my Timex watch stopped working. I keep forgetting to buy some batteries so for the meantime I rely on my cell phone to tell me what time it is. I guess this watch will stay on my little wooden manikin for now.
A slide of my PowerPoint presentation for Biology. My chapter was pretty easy, but it took a while for me to put it together as there were so many distractions while working on it. I think my presentation went pretty well..but I realized that I need to be talking in front of people more often to gain more confidence when and IF I decide to become a teacher in the future.
I was woken up by my mom's shaky voice early in the morning today at 5 a.m only to find that my grandma's health is getting worst. It was hard for me to keep a calm voice when the phone was handed down to me. I tried to say something to her, but then tears filled my eyes and my shaky voice wouldn't allow me to. Furthermore I didn't know what to say.. so I repeated what my mom told me to say instead, "I love you". They all wanted us to go home together and see her again. But due to financial problems, only my aunt could go back home and stay there for less than a week. It's been about 16 hours since then, and it felt like it was just a dream. It's hard to accept that my grandma's health is getting worst, and the thought of losing her is just painful. The only way for me to cope this is not to think about it, but it feels wrong by doing so. All we can do now is pray that she may live longer, long enough for at least my aunt to see her. I wish my mom could go too, but she is still in pain from giving birth through C-section. Sigh. Will you help me pray for my grandma's health? I don't know how else I could help her..but maybe through prayer, God will be able to hear and let her stay here longer. Thanks.
P.S. There was a family who came to see my mom and the baby and they also had their three kids come along with them. So I took out some puzzles for them to play. Just in case you were wondering about the picture.
I had a pretty good afternoon today. I thought I would be helping Kristine finish off our poster via prisma colors, but I ended up playing chess with Gerry D. So while Kristine and Leilanie left to buy McDonalds, I was focused on beating him. We catched up on some stuff since we go to different schools and finally won in the end! He didn't even finish the game LOL. I also played with Louie B. after Gerry left and after talking on the phone with Leilanie. I also won against him! LOL. Both of them actually didn't finish the game, since I took out most of their important chess pieces and had a pretty good defense. Hehe, I'm just that good. HAHAH, jokes. I'm not so good at it, but I think I'm getting better as I challenged more people. Oh yeah, I was at my school's cafeteria waiting for the talent show to start. It was a good show too! There were so many talented people I didn't know! Man, I wish I was good at singing/dancing/piano/guitar... I would probably participate if I was. But that's okay, I'll improve in one of those things in the future, then possibly perform in front of a crowd! That would be cool! :)
This was taken today after school. Too bad the sun was too bright, it would've been a nice picture if it shined just right.
So today I stayed after school to scrape off some more papers for the Art Committee. I mentioned this day a few days ago on this post. Anyway, we also had Chinese food! It was good food and I was really full by the end of it. The only lame side to this day was that both of my best friends weren't there with me. But that's okay, at least I'm more comfortable doing things at school without them anymore (not that it's a bad thing!). Hmmm I need to be more independent >.< We didn't finish scraping all of the boards so we will be going back next week and hopefully she'll order food for us again! If not, then that's alright, since my uncle always cook GOOD FOOD during dinner time. Alrighty, off to homework now!
Summer is ALMOST here! Hoorah! I can't wait! There's so many things I want to do and ONE of the best things of all is that I could... SLEEEEEEEP like a bear! Gaah. I need TONS of sleep. I should hibernate during the summer.. lol. Not just that, I get to kiss, hug, smell, cuddle, smile, and stare at Nathaniel without worrying about homework and studying! Hehe. There's a ton of things I want to do and will be doing especially with a lot of my friends (yeeee YMCA Day Camps!). Hopefully nothing will get in the way though.. and hopefully I won't waste my summer time too.
So I realized that it was almost midnight and I still didn't take a photo of the day. Being the lazy bum that I am, I decided to take a picture of a picture. This work isn't mine... though I wish it was. >.<
I went to a Leader's Assembly for YFC/KFC today. I wasn't sure if I should go since I missed the Covenant Orientation (went to YMCA Leader's Conference). It was saddening for me that the C.O's date was changed from Feb 20th to Feb 27th and I already had YMCA on that weekend which meant I have to wait for another C.O to be an official member of Kids for Christ. Gaah. But they said that I'm still in KFC since they knew that I was coming but the date was changed >.<. Anyway, I had a fun time today. See that picture? It was one of two activities they planned for us and what we needed to do was have one blank paper taped on everyone's back and have everyone write something nice about that person. Most of my comments are about my graphite drawings though but that's okay lol. We also had a sandwich competition where the number of questions we answer correctly counts for the number of ingredients we can put on our sandwich. We had to make it creative and delicious though since the judges were going to taste the sandwiches. After the assembly, I went to Jill's house for her party. I had a really great time! I would like to write tons about it but it seems that this paragraph is too long now. But to summarize some up: JILL YOU HAD SUCH GOOD FOODS, thanks for making me super full ;), Louie I am so going to beat you next time on ketchup, Karaoke :), piano (you guys are so addicted), ROCKBAND on drums, Kristine getting stuck in the washroom LOL, me getting stuck in the washroom too (but got out by myself hehe), and so much more! :)
He's so cute and chinky! :)
I wish Canon had a nanomacro setting or something, it would be interesting to see the stomata and the tiny organelles inside the leaves! Haha, maybe they're working on that setting right now? Pssh.. I wish. Hmmm, well nothing interesting really happened today.. unless I'm forgetting something..? Oh! Yeah I was really excited to go home today to see Nathaniel but then remembered that we had Art Committee after school. It kind of ruined my day just a little bit but at the same time enjoyed all the complaining that Ingrid had. Haha, we were scrubbing off papers on giant boards so we could paint it afterwards. It took time and effort to take off as much as we could especially those small annoying papers still glued to the boards. Anyway, we get to eat Chinese food next Tuesday after school as we have to continue scrubbing off those papers! AND JOHN, if you happen to read this, good job on your leadership and your updates in our group. You are a great and committed art student! Everyone else should try to have more of your art spirit! Since we kind of lack it... lol.
He is much smaller than you think he is. REALLY TINY! And really light too. Anyway, I took this at night... at my house! Hooray! It was either tonight or tomorrow morning that my mom and Nathaniel can go home. So after arriving from YMCA and asking my auntie, I was really excited and ended up not doing my homework! All I did was feed my curiosity by watching him sleep, kissing his cute little face/head and alternated with my brother in carrying him. Compared to Arielle, he is 5.25 lbs while Arielle was 7 lbs. Very tiny! lol. But he'll grow pretty big soon anyway, and I'll be taking tons of pictures and videos of him throughout his growth!
I actually made myself a schedule dedicated in studying for Biology on today. But then my dad told me that we were allowed to visit my mom and Nathaniel so I couldn't hesitate and not see him! When we arrived there (dad, brother and I), I thought I would have time to study for Biology but ended up staring and smiling at how incredibly cute and tiny he was! He was just so small compared to Arielle when I first saw her! And his hands and feet were just.... CUTE! The way he cries is super cute too since he doesn't cry as loud as I thought he would haha. Anyway, I ended up studying until 2 in the morning, and it was worth it! :D
I didn't get to take any special pictures today (but this), due to excitement and studying for math >.< But the good news was that my mom gave birth to Nathaniel today! Haha, who knew? One week earlier! :)
Every now and then I would look at my left and realized that the drawing I am doing now is still unfinished :(. It bothers me each time I look, since I really want to keep drawing! But distractions distractions distractions are keeping me from doing so! To which do I blame most of it to? Biology. Yup, as an AP student, I gotta keep up with my reading. You know, maybe AP shouldn't mean "Advanced Placement", maybe it should be an acronym for "Advanced Procrastinator"? Haha, I guess biology isn't the only one to blame for. Anyway, I was going to use my dad's Canon Powershot SX1IS to photograph something else but he took it because my mom could give birth anytime soon. That's a little disturbing but I'm assuming he needs it so when he takes her to the hospital, he would have the camera by his side already? Hmmm, lets leave it at that. Anyway, I will be continuing to add graphite on the drawing bit by bit. I really hope to finish it before the month of April but might get sidetracked because Nathaniel will be born by then. Which means tons of bonding time with him! :D And may also mean this drawing will be delayed >.<
I managed to balance it on the doorknob :)
SHOOT I misspelled the name on the picture.. LOL. Oh wells. >.<
After much thought and discerning, we finally decided to name my baby brother Nathaniel. It was really hard to choose because one would like a name and the other doesn't. For example I wanted the name Ezekiel and nickname him Zeke but my mom doesn't like the name. That was before though, now I don't like it as much lol. My brother wanted Jericho but I didn't really like it. My mom wanted Hero but it didn't work out and my dad wanted to pass on his name but we disagreed right away lol. The thing is, we agreed as a family to find a name that rhymes with "elle". One that has an "l" at the end so that his name isn't the odd one compared to me and my brother's. When my mom listed the three top names the two that stood out the most were "Nathaniel and Azriel". I liked Azriel at first but then started liking Nathaniel because of the meaning. My mom said she tops it number 1 because it meant "Gift of God; God has given". She then told me that it was through praying to God that made it possible for one more child be added in the family. So thank you Lord for this gift, this blessing that you've given us. Thank you for answering my mom's prayer and for keeping both of them safe and and healthy. A child is the greatest gift anyone could have. Though these words may not be enough, you know just how thankful we are for the blessings you've given us Lord God. THANK YOU LORD once again! Two more or less weeks until we get to see him, can't wait! :)
P.S: Thanks to those who helped me decide and discern about the name, it means a lot!
Title says it all.
If you haven't known this already, I have YMCA meetings every Wednesdays of the week. So I guess this post is going to be about YMCA! Hoorah! Well after doing my homework and waiting for Nikol and the members to come, we all crowded around our usual sitting spot inside the culinary arts room. We talked about the camp to the people who didn't go and also welcomed a new member (hai Jessica :)! After that Nikol told us about this Global Youth Summit happening this March 19th and also our event for the month on the 27th. We planned out and arranged some of the things we are going to do for the 19th and also planned out our event for the 27th such as who hides the eggs, who cooks the pancakes, who gets to be the M.C, and etc etc. I feel super excited for what's ahead because we get to go on a ZOO SLEEEPOVEEER!!! HUUUZAAH!! And we also get to do what we want for the month of April (watch movies, pizzas, games, invite people, etc etc)! Our BIGGEST event would probably be May and for June it's going to be a surprise (which means we don't have to plan anything for that month) and also this teen zone thing. I'm also excited for this weekend as the YFC north is hosting the General Assembly and I also get to see the KFC R.O.C.K Leaders on Sunday. WOW, tons of things happening! There are other important things as well but I'll leave that out for tomorrow or Friday. Anyway, as you can see I have a lot of things to be excited about. GAAH AND there's going to be tons of things happening for YFC and KFC this June and summer too! WOW. Haha, I can't wait! :D
So today we had a speaker that came to our school. It was a presentation originally for the Aboriginal students but the staff and teachers decided to have everyone hear what this man had to say. I already knew his story since I went to a field trip before I graduated junior high and he was asked to be the special speaker of that day. Anyway, after seeing his presentation, my next class was also on the list to go see his presentation! Yup, I heard the same life story twice in one day, thrice if I count the one back in grade 9. I wasn't going to watch it again, but decided to since I had nothing better to do if I just roam around the school 'till the end of the day. Anyway, it was interesting to see it again since I was curious if he would say the exact same things as last time. Well he did but made some twists.
This man is inspiring. I remember in my grade 9 year when he told us all of his successes as an athlete and student and THEN showed us his three amputated fingers on his left hand which left a surprised look on my face. It was incredible how this guy managed to tackle a lot of obstacles in his life and still have success 'till this day. He was actually a professional footballer but now a psychologist. Another amazing thing is that, he will be getting his PhD soon! You may not understand my surprise since I didn't wrote down the other factors that would make you understand, but for me this man is just inspiring. I hope the best for this guy!
A couple quotes from his presentation:
"Unless you're the lead dog, the view never changes!"
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
—Marianne Williamson
A not so great picture. I took a photo of my math text book since I didn't feel like making an effort to take a nice picture today. I'm that lazy >.<
