Day 100: Organic Chemistry

I hate chemistry. I don't like the way my teacher teaches it..especially his attitude. And because of him, I've developed a dislike of chem.

Day 99: Fish

My auntie got this as a souvenir from a birthday party of Arielle's friend. There were two fishes. One died a day later. So my brother put it in a glass and asked me if I could flush it in the toilet. Is that proper? To flush a dead fish in the toilet? I didn't do it. I don't know who took care of it.. R.I.P fishy. :/

Day 97: Tash's Debut

A friend's debut. I was totally not feeling well today. This morning I woke up feeling so sick. Moving was slow motion. It got to the point where I thought I wasn't in the right planet. haha. I thought I wouldn't be able to make it to Tash's debut, but I did. Though my body was aching, what made it interesting was this cute boy at table 4. Oh gosh, that was funny. This part of the party will be memorable ;)

Day 91: Weekend Well Spent

Another amazing weekend. It truly is a blessing to be able to attend these kinds of YFC camp. You get to meet new people and see old faces as well as reconnect with them. There are fun activities and games. Good food! Talent Show. Late night sleep. Conversing. And renewing one's relationship with the Lord. There's a lot of crying no doubt about it. Worshipping to God and giving your all. Asking for forgiveness, strength and courage. All those things we feel like we are missing. As a facilitator, I learned a lot from the participants in my group. They reminded me a lot of my first YFC camp and the lessons I learned. I hope to serve more in the future, as well as serve with the new YFC members! :)

First day of YFC camp! Meeting new and seeing old faces was fun. And since I was part of the service team? It was pretty cool being able to sit behind the main desk haha. This weekend will be an awesome experience. But I don't necessarily need to say everything here. Though we know this will be another weekend to remember!

Day 86: The Next Day

Awwweeee yeeeauuuuh! Card games and disney movies! I actually lost to a certain level in a card game so I had to cook as a consequence. It wasn't too bad actually, I liked it. We were going to watch a movie at the theatres but decided to stay and hang out inside the house. Staying indoors are where the cool kids are! Haha Also, we watched this Retro Teletoon special and after so many years I've finally got to see Little Lu Lu again! The memories I had as a child coming from this show felt nice. I felt like a little kid again for a moment!

Day 85: Sleepover Night!

Myself, Lanie, Kristine and Zanecha decided to sleepover at Lanie's house. It was the first time I've ever stayed up 'till 6 in the morning! Everything felt weird. They agreed to do an all-nighter while I was debating whether to sleep or not. I decided to stay awake with them playing card games, building house of cards and stuff. Then they bailed out on me around 6AM in the morning the next day! So I fell asleep too haha. We also made sushi today and watched Beauty and the Beast, Mulan I and II. It was awesome :)

Day 83: Fashion Show

My mom's friend got us a ticket to a fashion show catwalk. I felt intimidated, there were so many people with good style of clothing! And me? Pshh, let's just say it wasn't fashionable. Haha. After that we went to Michaels and then to a different store where I bought a PUZZLEE!! I wanted one after playing puzzles during social class a couple days ago. I tried to connect as much as I could after dinner and then my brother joined in. Unfortunately it got late, so we'll have to finish the puzzle some other time!

Day 82: YMCA Dodgeball Tournament

I had a lot of fun tonight! It was ironic how I was able to hit so many people, I haven't played this game in such a long time! And I usually miss my targets! Haha, it's always fun to be around you ymca cool kids! My team got 4th place, pshh.. but that's okay! Under that sticker is actually a first place prize! Haha, we are numbeer one no matta whaaat. :P

Today was fun! Especially during lunch when everyone started singing along with Louie and Isaac. You guys woo the gurls haha. And the part where we played bear, hunter and ninja! I was like... the second last person left but lost the game to the girl.

Anyways, I loved the skit they presented to us. It was emotional in many ways. Especially during when we all just sat at random seats inside the church. And with the music on, it got my tears and nose running. Overall I don't regret going. It was worth missing chemistry and social wooO!

Day 69: Nathaniel's Birthday Party

So today is Nathaniel's Birthday Party. You wouldn't believe how many people came. SO MUCH! It was so crowded! So I decided to stay in my room. That was unfortunate because I had so many kids in my room. There was no place to hide. -__- lol I love kids but when it comes to party time? They seem to think my room is the play place of the house. Next time? I'm gonna put a Do Not Enter sign. Or at least tie a rope from my french doorknob to my bed, that way no one can enter as they please!

Day 68: News About Japan

Work in Progress!

I'm so glad I got a new phone, my blackberry curve! With the plan I got, I am able to access Facebook and Twitter along with others. These two are the main ones I go unto. And because I've finally decided to use my Twitter again, I was able to get a hold of the latest news. After watching Sanctum with my friends (around 3AM in the morning), I went on Twitter and saw tweets about Japan. It was such horrible news. It was a little hard to have fun because of what was happening. Truthfully I wasn't sure how bad it was, but with the increase tweeting about the 8.9 magnitude earthquake, I started to tell my friends about it. We even took a break to watch the news around noon. I think w/o my bb, I would've gone home not knowing what the heck was happening out there. It happened so fast. And they aren't just going to face the earthquake, they are going to be facing a tsunami and the aftershock.

Please put some thoughts and prayers for the people in Japan.

Day 60: Drop In Center

Today we went to the Drop In center in downtown. This was my third time volunteering there. Hero Project sang songs and it was a really nice experience to sing to the people there. If I haven't mentioned already, the Drop In center is where people go when they don't have a place to stay. Those who have problems with themselves and with their lives (drug addicts, alcoholics etc..) are allowed to stay (there are exceptions with their conditions) as long as they don't violate their rules.

I became upset with myself today because during lunch, I felt grossed out. I didn't have the appetite to eat and I didn't want to use the utensils. I only enjoyed the pudding they provided. Why? A thought came to my head that those utensils were used by the people there. And all these thoughts about whether or not they wash the utensils good came to mind. Then I lost my appetite. I mentioned this to my friends and one told me how "closed minded" I was. PSSH WHAAT? I knew just how stupid I was acting towards the food and I knew I should feel blessed, but no offense, when you see people whose faces and whole body are covered with dirt, there's just something about the human nature that makes them feel grossed out. I bet you felt the same. I was upset that I thought that way but I bet I wasn't the only one who had that in mind.

This doesn't mean I hated being there. Don't get me wrong, it was a good experience to have because it reminded all of us just how lucky we all are. I'm grateful that they have the Drop In Center. Being there was a little hard, because I know someone who went there one night. And seeing the sights again and thinking about the thoughts and emotions that person had that night? I was nearing into tears as I sang. It's not a pleasant feeling to see so many people having no place to stay. I didn't come to judge, it was just a thought turned into a feeling I couldn't control.

Day 59: Bus Doors

I haven't seen this type of bus with this back door in the longest time! OH GOSH I MISS THIS DOOR! I hate the other bus back doors which are opened by touching the surface of the side of the door. It sucks because they don't open right away. You have to touch it several times delaying the time the buss should arrive on other stops. I hate those doors. I love this one. GOSH I hope they stop making touched doors, so stupid.

Day 56: An Awesome Last Day

-SIGH- Today is the last day for Camp Chief Hector. The last session? I totally forgot what it was called, but this included everybody in one place instead of in family groups to different sessions. Because this camp was about diversity, we all had to make a scene with our family groups. We had to act it out and we would perform this twice. For example, if ours was about discrimination in race, we would make a situation where one is making a racist comment towards another and blah blah blah. The second time we act it out again, anyone can shout FREEZE on the parts that they could change. If an actor said a racist comment on the first act, on the second act someone in the audience can yell FREEZE on that same racist comment moment and tag that actor out then UNFREEZE and say something else instead of a racist comment, changing the whole situation around. Does that make sense? Anyway, I loved it. I got to make so much input in our group's scene which was about racism and also got to know Jen who taught us the Spoken Word session! She's amazing at it!

Before lunch, we all got into a circle. They called it the hugging circle. The first person to hug went to the left and hugged the person next to him/her then that person in turn goes left and hug the person next to him/her. This went on until everybody hugged everyone. I got pretty excited, this meant I get to hug him! WOOOHOO! But so much people had come my way and hugged them that by the time it was my turn to turn left (he was just a few individuals away) I got nervous and said "Hey Ukrainian accented guy"! OH GOSH, I slapped my self once again with my imaginary hand and told myself whether I learned anything during the weekend or not. Omgoodness. -sigh- I think he knew I had a crush on him. After a friend of my friends asked him his name (to find out if he was my cc)he started looking in my direction during our sessions. *BLUSH* And when it was my turn to go left to hug? I looked at him and he was smiling looking back at me. Then I was like OMG I GETS TO HUGS HIM! LOL. Okay enough about that.

This weekend? I LOVED IT. I wish it was a one week camp instead! We are all planning to come back next year, but I'm not sure if that would be possible since this is for high school students.. maybe there are exceptions! Ahah.

Day 55: An Awesome Unexpected Day

I think this was the first time ever I've been near a horse! Or petted it! The surface texture covered with hair felt rough but it was awesome patting my hand on his/her face! I even got a picture with me and the horse!

OMGOODNESS. I could go on and on about what had happened on this day. But one of the things I'd like to talk about was how I stopped expecting too much. I didn't want to be disappointed. So this morning when we were called into our "family groups", I found that I wasn't with any of my girl friends! John and Chris were in my group though but still! So I thought it wouldn't be as fun as I hoped it would be. Then I slapped myself in the head with my imaginary hand and turned things around. Instead of fussing over the fact that my friends got a friend to be with, I decided to participate a lot and meet new friends. And you know what? I don't regret being in my family group. There I got to do so many things I've never done before. There I got to be myself and express my opinions. There I got to read a "poem" I wrote to everyone during the Spoken Word session. I got to have so much fun and even got a new camp crush! HAHAHA. It was so sudden. In one of the sessions I just started to notice him and BAM, I had to tell my friends so they could stop teasing me with my other camp crush from last year. This new guy is now my Calgarian BB BOO. LOL. ANYWAY, we also had the open mic that night. It was awesome. So many from Bishop YMCA got to perform to show their talents, and MAN what talent we have! I wish I could've recorded the whole thing.

On and on and on, I hope today's memories will stay in my head for a long time. Today was definitely the highlight of my days as I haven't had a day like this for the longest time! WOOOHOOO AWESOME DAAAY! OH and cheers for the food too! lol. I guess I'll add when I remember which memory was on which day ahaha.

Day 54: First Night and Performance

This morning I took another route to go to my school. It was cold, but music helped my start of the day! I felt like in one of those movies where the main character is feeling joy while listening and singing along to music as she walks. I love music :)

So today was the first day/night of Camp Chief Hector! We got to perform our Extreme Leader's song Price Tag by Jessie J. Two of our boys made a rap part of the song and it was AWESOME! Excitement for the weekend started building up on this first night and everyone's just looking forward for what's to come!

P.S: You guys are bums for calling out my Saskatoon BB BOO (LOL) when he was near. To be clear, he's not my camp crush anymore bahaha.

Day 53: Social Homework

Day 52: YMCA Practice

TODAY was a fun practice! GOOD JOB ERRRBODY! Wow, our first practice and we're already rockin' it. Just make sure you all remember your lyrics and make movements, we'll rock out the stage if we keep it up! Ahahah, wooo! Yup, Jessie J's Price Tag will get errbody singing! Hopefully most will know the song :)
