Day 133: Regional Youth Conference
Today was my first time to go to RYCON, which is an event held every year. To be honest, I was hesitating on going due to disappointment. I wasn't feeling the excitement that I was feeling a month ago. I wanted to stay at home and probably waste my time. Well I ended up going. I didn't want to waste the $20 fee and miss out on some things that might actually be fun. Also, I was bummed out that one of my friends couldn't go. And plus, I had to deal with things I didn't want to deal with. As lazy as I was, I am very glad that I didn't turn this event down. I met new people, felt better from the many hugs I got, got to eat pretty good food & got full, had fun playing volleyball and wii sports, photographed the most valuable picture (MVP), heard many brave souls confess the troubles in their lives and how they dealt with it, worshipped my heart out, and most importantly, I learned more about God and his Son, Jesus. Youth for Christ has really changed me. I've still got a lot to learn and discover, and so hopefully I won't be lead astray after this event. Also, I hope that the next RYCON will take place north of Calgary.. hopefully!
P.S: My team won the volleyball competition, ALMOST won the wii sports, and Leilanie and I won the MVP! It was surprising because we planned and photographed it during wii sports. If I hadn't told her to pose, we might not have won the MVP contest.
