Day 29: Kids for Christ R.O.C.K Leaders

Today was a day like no other. As always, each time I meet with the YFC and KFC, my day is always lifted. I get to know the members more and being with these people are just a blessing. It was a really fun day! Lots of laughs, worshiping, singing, learning a new song, getting to know each other, games, stories, motivation, hugging, and of course.. eating lol. I am not really comfortable with them yet, but I think in time I will be able to let myself loose and just be myself. And I think today was a start! Thanks again guys (if any of you is reading this). Today was a day well spent :-)

About the picture: After putting on her headband that way, I told my baby cousin to make a face on my Sony Ericsson camera and that was the expression she gave me. Haha, what a cutie pie!

Another thing I should note today: They changed the name of the KFC Core. Instead of Core, it is now R.O.C.K (Reaching Out Christ to Kids) Leaders so there is no confusion between the YFC Core and the KFC Core.

Day 28: Evangelization Rally

Today was the first time I attended an evangelization rally. Everyone (CFC, SFC, KFC, YFC) was practically in the event! Well, not everyone.. Anyway, I had a really nice time. We did not do activities/games but it was still pretty awesome. It is amazing what God can do. How he can bring different people in one room regardless of their backgrounds, personalities, and age. I loved how when we started worshipping, so many people were raising their hands up, jumping, singing, closing their eyes and losing themselves in worship and in God's love. It is a great experience to have.

Anyway, the photo above is the rose that my friend, Jill, gave me. I mentioned this back on this post. My other friends and I actually made a bet that whoever's rose lasts the longest...wins something? Haha, not too sure if anyone was going to win something. But I am hoping mine lasts the longest! :D

Oh yeah, for the banner/shield I mentioned on the last post, only the groups get to represent their banner/shield- not each people haha. The Kids for Christ used the shield that I was working the last couple days! It felt pretty good when I saw them putting it up high! :D

Day 27: CFC-Kids for Christ Shield

So I mentioned on this post about a poster I was asked to do. It was not really a poster that I had to work on but rather in a shape of a shield kind of poster. We are going to be cutting and sticking the banners/shields that everyone made in sticks so that each of us could all hold it up (as I was told). Anyway, I edited the picture to look this way so you guys can see the outlines of the cute little children's faces :D. Haha, well I surprised myself because it turned out pretty good. I actually worked on it 'till one in the morning because I was so into it when the drawing started looking nice! This morning I colored the whole drawing and finally finished after over an hour. I did not thought it would take me that long! Well, I am glad it is done. OH and I get to watch the new episode of Smallville today, HOORAH! :D

P.S: CFC means Couples for Christ which is the head of Youth for Christ and Kids for Christ if you were wondering.

Day 26: Get Together

My friends and I went to eat at Pho and watched the movie Leap Year today. To summarize it all up, it was a fun day! Thanks to Charlotte for giving me a present and for letting me borrow your Nikon camera! Your camera is awesome! To Kristine who paid for the food we ate! OH and thank you Jill for the roses you gave us, we are very flattered :D. Well, we better watch again together next month guys! I cannot wait! :)

The photo above was taken at my school's chapel using my Sony Ericsson (cellular) camera (while waiting for Jomar to arrive). I don't really know who that guy is, but man he is good at playing zeee piano! It motivates and inspires me to re-learn piano since I stopped long time ago >.< Haha, well I will learn to play piano one of these days... :)

Day 25: Practice

This (rushed) drawing is basically just for practice. I wanted to draw something different other than portraits of celebrities. I am hoping to get it done soon because I plan to give this to a friend for her belated birthday (from loong loong time ago lol). Anyway, hopefully it turns out fine in the end! Oh, and sorry for the bad quality, I had to use my phone since the other one's batteries were dead.

Day 24: Poster

I am really happy that I do not have school this whole week! But sad at the thought that I have to read my Biology 35 AP textbook (homework). *sigh* For a while I was glad that Bio 30 was over, then I remembered that I still need to finish Bio 35 for half of next semester. >.< THEN I REMEMBERED that I took Math 20 >>AP<<. DAARN. This is going to be a challenging semester.

Anyway, I was asked by one of the leaders from Kids for Christ if I could make a poster for an upcoming event this saturday. I was a little hesitant to be honest, but then I thought that this would be the first time I would contribute as part of the KFC core (though I still need to attend a covenant orientation this February to be official)! So I agreed to it. :D Besides that, I am currently working on something...particularly drawing something. If it starts turning out good, I will post it in the near future. Well, I will be watching a movie tonight, care to join me? Haha, jokes. Have an awesome nighty night! :)

About the picture: During R.O.C.K training, they asked us to paint anything using our fingers. This was my painting. I have this taped on my wall and every time I look at it, it feels like it was painted by the child in me. I love it. :-)

Day 23: Mysterious, Exciting and Wonderful

So exams are finally over for this semester!!! For me at least :D Not so much happened today really. But it is one of those days when you are reminded by the simplest things of how great life really is. It is one of those days when, despite of the tired eyes and body, you can really look at life and just say, "Life's good".

There is this type of feeling I have, something mysterious, exciting and wonderful. I can feel it at the back of my spine but it seems that it is not the right time yet. Like when you feel so much love in you, and you really just cannot wait to give it away to someone: a friend, family, anyone. I have had this feeling for quite some time now actually. Haha, maybe because February is near? Or maybe because I feel that this New Year, there will be a ton of great changes. Not just that, I feel that there is more love in my family because of a precious gift that God has blessed us, my soon to be born baby brother.

Anyway, the picture above are origami triangles I was eager to assemble today..but had no idea what kind. Hmm, I shall assemble them some other time. Goodnight!

Day 22: Still Trying to Study

I dreamt again today for the fourth time now (4 days in a row). It is kind of crazy.. considering the fact that I cannot recall the last time I dreamt so much! But I think there is a link in each of those days though. Like how I have been drinking iced mocha each time I studied, sleep late and then dreaming. So maybe the iced mocha and sleeping until 3 am in the morning equals dreams that make you smile! Haha, crazy idea.. but it is the only explanation I have! Or maybe because by the time I sleep I am already as tired as I can be and so when I do go to bed I end up having a deep sleep and then dreaming results...? Gaah.

Anyway, this is the last night I will ever stay up to study for exams. Hopefully next semester I can prepare a week before the actual date for exams! But I really like the dreams I get from it.. even though it is unhealthy. >.< Well, I still have lots to re-learn for bio. Oh, the picture I took are the nuts that i have been eating while I was studying. My mom told me they were good for my brain.. so I attempted to eat as much as I could in hopes of doing good for my diploma tomorrow. Haha, lame.. but who knows, it might help my memory somehow.. lol.

Day 21: One More Exam

There is only one more exam I have to take for this semester, Biology 30 AP. Dun dun DUN! It is actually a diploma, and recently I found out that Alberta was the only province that have diplomas, and the rest of Canada do not! Whaaat? Well, at least that is what my IB friends told me. There is SO MUCH to remember. It is kind of frightening me now because I do not remember half of the things we learned.

Anyway, I am a little upset that I decided not to go ice skating today for YFC. I WANTED to, since I have never really ice skated.. but because it is a diploma I am taking, I had to back down on that. We have another event coming up next saturday and I am SO going to that one. There is no way I am missing it! Hopefully I have a ride though... >.<

Other things I want to jot down for today:
1) I saw that the toilet upstairs had been changed so that there is also a little seat (for potty-training) for the little ones at our house: my little cousin and my soon-to-be-born baby brother.
2) For 3 straight days there has been a particular person appearing in each of my dreams. It makes me happy when I think about it :)
3) I will probably stay up tonight again and study even though the diploma is on monday. That is how badly I need to study! >.<

Day 20: Thank You Lord

Have you ever been so sleep deprived that the only thing that could keep you going was excitement and curiosity? Well those are just two things. What really kept me going was the Lord's guidance. Hmm, today was a good day. Even though I only had 4 hours of sleep due to extreme studying, I still managed to have a pretty nice day. Thanks to Jomar and Maria for coming over! And thank you God for such a wonderful day.

Summary of today:
1) Chemistry 20 AP exam was pretty easy! I was freaking out that it may be too hard, but thanks to online practice exams, I was able to answer some questions that would probably be wrong if I did not try those practice exams. But then again, maybe easy was actually hard. -___-
2) I saw the LARGEST/BIGGEST husky dog EVEEER! I think it was a husky dog.. but MAN if you had seen the dog you would be very surprised! I have to admit, as lame as it sounds, when that dog got near me it reminded me of when Jacob from the Twilight series turned into that huge wolf. lol
3) Made some sushi with Jomar and Maria! They came over to my house and we got to eat tons of the sushi we made. Of course, I had to share some to my family! Oh, we also watched The Book of Eli online. I know.. I feel guilty of watching movies online... gaah >.<
4) Realized that the most important and precious book in the history of humankind is the Bible. Thanks to the movie we saw, I was reminded of just how blessed I am to own one. Hmm, watch The Book of Eli, maybe you will feel the same way I do in the end of the movie.
5) I found a better light for my room- by using the three-headed lamp. Thanks Jomar (for placing it there!) haha.

About the picture: Jomar made these and gave it to my family. It was initially for the three of us to eat, but we gave the rest to my family instead as we were filled up with chicken/rice and TONS of sushi we made.

Day 19: Chemistry

Last day to study for my Chemistry Exam. I will probably stay up tonight and study as much as I can. *sigh* Wish me luck!

Day 18: Painting

This morning, a few of my classmates crowded around my graphite drawing of my baby cousin. I did not mean to show it off or anything, people just kept asking if they could see it. Anyway, they took the drawing out and a few seconds later my social teacher, Mr. MacCormac saw the drawing. I loved the expression I saw on his face! Haha, one of my favorite moment is when people just cannot believe what I drew. I love their jaw dropping, wide-eyed expressions. Though I get all weird because I just do not know what to say but, "Thank you!" Anyway, he then told me that I HAVE to see him after class. So I did.

That last social 20-1 class was spent by watching the movie V for Vendetta. Meeng, that movie is pretty awesome! Though we did not get to finish it, I plan to watch it all by borrowing the dvd from a friend. During the movie, Mr.MacCormac kept reminding me to see him after class...this got me a little nervous though, especially because near the end, the movie was placing me into a "top secret" mood kind of thing. Once everyone was out (except for one) he then asked me if I knew how to paint. I was like..."Uh oh, deeng I'm only good in graphite!" But did not said it loudly. Then he told me how he commissioned some paintings from previous students and that he was willing to pay me money to have a painting commission done by me. I was like, "FOR REALS SIR?!" But said it only to myself. The only thing I could say loudly was.."Umm, I'm not really good in painting, Sir". Then he told me to think about it and tell him if I still want to do it when we get back from the exams.

To be honest, I really do not know if I should do it. I only had two painting experiences and the second one I am doing now is not turning the way I want it to be. I blame lack of materials and too detailed models. Naaah, it is probably because I need more experience to get the hang of it. I really wish I tried painting during the summer. Meeeng, if I did maybe I would have told him "YES SIR!" Hmm, you know what? If the painting I am doing now for art turns out looking pretty good in the end, then I will try and paint what he wants me to paint. If not, then I will just ask the image and see how detailed it is, if I think I can do it then I will. If too detailed.. then probably not. lol. Oh yeah, he only commissions paintings, not graphites. :( Hmmm, looks like I have a new hobby to improve this summer. :)

About the photo: I played around a bit with the brushes I own using the Canon Powershot SX1IS. Turned out pretty nice! :D

Day 17: Not the final result

I should be studying tonight for chemistry but ended up trying to finish as much as I could with this drawing. I kind of promised my art teacher that I would have it done this wednesday so I was hurrying in trying to fill in the clothing. I really want to darken the face a little and lighten the clothing a little too but that would take a long time to balance the whole shading. To me it looks really unbalanced since I can see the mistakes I made. Oh well, it still looks pretty awesome.. hoorah! Maybe when I get this back I will shade more of it to make it look better. After all, I will be giving this to my little cousin's parents since this was their (belated) Christmas present. :)

Day 16: Walking to the Bus Stop

I had a bad start of the morning today. The one thing that ticked me off the most was the fact that the vending machines at my school were out of water! Like every.vending.machine. :'( I actually still tried on one machine since it did not say "sold" but rather "$1.50". But that machine ate my $1.25!! So I did not get anything out of it. The lady at the office told me to call the number on the machine to get my money back when usually the people in the office would give us back the money themselves instead of calling the company! Gaah. I was so thirsty too. The whole day I was pretty much dehydrated.. this is why I bring my water bottle EVERYWHERE. I did not bring it today since I thought the vending machines were filled with drinks. -sigh- The one thing I will remember for this particular day is that I have never been so dehydrated in such a looong time! Maybe it was the cappuccino that I drank last night... if that makes any logical sense as a reason for my dehydration.

Anyway, I took a picture of my friends as we walked to the bus stop. I was fortunate enough to have them both come home with me! Since usually we part ways to go home. Thank you guys. It was one of the high lights of my day lol :)

Day 15: After ROCK Training

This weekend was filled with smiles, laughter, hugs, crying, and so many other memories and emotions we felt during the training. I just feel SO BLESSED to have been called by God and take an extra step in YFC (Youth for Christ) by becoming part of the KFC (Kids for Christ) core family. I know that there will be tons of challenging situations that will happen in the future and if I do make mistakes, then that would only make me stronger. I also know that there will be times when my schedule will probably be filled up that going to YFC or KFC might be impossible- but hey, God does not give you anything you cannot handle..right? So bring it on 2010! No matter how hard things may get, I know that we can all pull it through. Hoorah! :D

Oh yeah, after the training we planned to head home, but we (the 6 of us and others) ended up going to this bubble tea place (name of place I do not know of >.<) and ate there. I ordered a smoothie called "Memory" consisted of strawberries, chocolate and banana. And since Deanne bought 30 pieces of salt and pepper chicken, I was able to eat enough to have a full stomach. Thanks to Deanne for the chicken! I think I ate more than you (7 pieces I think lol) and thank you JUNNEL for your generosity in paying for all the bills. I will somehow pay you back without telling you since you refuse to have anyone pay you back. Hmm, I already have an idea of how to do so :D

The picture above: I took this when some decided to make a circle and snap some pictures of our shoes. I am the one in the middle of the bottom. My jacket kinda ruins it but that's okay, it still looks pretty nice :)

Day 14: Before ROCK Training

This was the only picture I took today. If you are wondering what this is, it is a drawing I did of my baby cousin. It is not finish yet but I am hoping to get it done this week. I thought I was going to take some rad pictures after arriving at the Kee's residence for the ROCK training, but I totally forgot about it. I wish I did took a picture though as a memory. BUT so many people brought their cameras that there was no need for me to take pictures. But I still needed to take one for this project, and the only picture I took today was this! Oh wells

P.S: ROCK means Reaching Out Christ to Kids if you were wondering :)

Day 13: Friday

After more than an hour of babysitting my baby cousin, she finally fell asleep in my arms (while watching Dr.Phil :D). Then I placed her on my brother's bunk and was looking so cute with that bear that I decided to take a picture. :)

I will not be able to post anything up for tomorrow. I am going to this (overnight) ROCK training- a requirement before I get to join the KFC (Kids for Christ) core. Then I would have to attend a covenant orientation in February to become official. I will however, take a picture tomorrow and post it on Sunday night. I hope you guys will have a pretty neat weekend, I think I will have a neat one too- but will probably be staying up 'till 4 in the morning (I was warned lol).

Day 12: Negative Drinks

We had a half day today, but it was a weird half day. In the morning we did not have classes but had to go to class in the afternoon. Weird, huh? I would rant about it but naaah. Anyway, after school my friends and I went to Pho. I decided to treat my other friend by buying her the vermicelli spring roll. I did not get her a present for her birthday yesterday, so in return I bought her food instead. >.< The picture you see here are glasses of water in negative mode. It looked weird (and pretty cool), but the birthday girl liked it so I decided to post this up for today. A few other things happened as well but you will probably get bored by then :P

Day 11: Morning Sky

This morning I was looking forward to take a picture of the beautiful sunrise that I did not get to take yesterday. But the sunrise was not the same as before, so I decided to take a picture of this instead. Hmm, nothing much to say really. Here's to Day 11!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Day 10: Afternoon Sky

There was a beautiful sunrise this morning that gave away a mixture of red and orange in the sky. I think it looked more like a fuchsia color actually. I wanted to take a picture of it and saw the perfect moment to do so. Unfortunately I was on a bus and it would feel awkward positioning my body to be at a right angle while people are staring at me at the same time. So I hesitated and decided to enjoy the beauty of nature instead. Because I could not get a nice picture of the sunrise, I decided to take a picture of the sky after school. Surprisingly it turned out pretty cool. Enjoy :)

Day 9: Acrylic Painting

This is part of the model (I arranged) that I am currently painting for my art project. I am no where close to being done with this project since I simply do not have the inspiration nor the interest in painting. I wish I did though, I really do wish I was as good in painting as in graphite drawing. But unfortunately, maybe painting is not for me. Hmmm, though I hope that the next time I paint acrylic, I hope to have the inspiration and the proper materials to make a beautiful image/model painted on a canvas. Actually, the reason why I find no interest in this project is that the paint brushes are limited. Limited materials in painting just does not work out for me. Whereas in graphite drawing, I am okay with having two different tones of pencils, malleable eraser, and a tissue. It is limited, but that will do.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 8: Phone Call

When my friends are not online to chat with, I call them instead. Usually I call for homework questions. Then there are times I call because I knew that one of them would make me feel better somehow. If you guys are reading this, thanks for all of the times you have helped me feel better. It really means a lot. Even though sometimes you both get annoying from time to time, you guys have always cared about what I feel. Anyways, why won't any of you pick up my calls today?? Are you both thaat busy? Or have I been calling too much? lol, well if you do see this, just know that every time I tried to call and no one picks up, I always sense that maybe something bad had happened. That's how weird I am. Haha, so just please answer my calls.. it's about homework. :P

P.S: Don't mind the phone number, someone suddenly called when I took this picture.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 7: Calculations

Saturdays should be fun, but what can I do? Exams are going to start soon this month so I need to stay focused on all of my subjects. Hmmm, hopefully I get some of my homework done so I can continue drawing my graphite drawing of my little cousin either tonight or tomorrow. Alrighty then, back to finishing my labs!

Friday, January 8, 2010

Day 6: Sleepy Head

This is Arielle, my baby cousin. I was not aware that she was already asleep after 10 minutes when my dad brought her home. She is such a cutie. One of the cutest things she does is take her jacket, sweater, and shoes off by herself after arriving from the babysitters house to my house. She is only 1 year and 8 months old but this kid is supaah smart! I cannot wait until I can drive and when she is old enough to go watch Disney movies in the theatre with me, especially when my baby brother is old enough too :D

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Day 5: Lunch Break

I took this picture during lunch break at my school. I thought it looked pretty neat when I imagined what that would look like in black and white. Anyway, I would like to note that today was another sleepless night again. It felt like I did not even went to sleep! This is what I get for sleeping late during the christmas break. But to my surprise, many of my friends also had trouble sleeping! I'm just glad I was not alone :]

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Day 4: Rubix Cube

I was looking around my room today and saw my rubix cube. I remember telling myself to re-learn it this christmas vacation since I have forgotten how to assemble the last part of finishing the cube. Unfortunately I forgot to do so >.<
Well there is one more day until school starts. How will I spend this last day? Hmm, I will leave it up to time to figure it out.

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Day 3: Homework and Studying Time

So I have today and tomorrow left to study and get my homework done. It ticks me off a bit that I spent most of my christmas vacation doing other stuff rather than what I wanted to do. But I did what I thought I should at least do. The books over Biology 30 were some of the books I wanted to read and do during the break. -sigh- I guess I will have to do them some other time.

Monday, January 4, 2010

Day 2: Insomnia

I could not sleep last night so I ended up taking a picture of this at 2:37 am in the morning. I hate it when I have too much on my mind- I end up thinking about all the things that I should have done all at once- which results to difficulty in sleeping.

Sunday, January 3, 2010

Day 1: First Post for Project 365

I got a new book about photography! Thanks to the gift card that was in my jacket's pocket WHICH I by the way did not know had 25 dollars in it. Hopefully I get to read this aside from homework and studying and from tons of other stuff >.<

About This Blog...

Just recently, I heard about this project called, "Project 365". What you have to do basically is to take a photo a day for the WHOLE year. Being an amateur photographer myself, I thought it was pretty cool to do so. But then I thought, "Oh wait a minute, will I really stick to taking a photo a day? What if I have too much homework and studying to do??" Realizing that this project can be challenging paused me for a bit and got me thinking.

I really like the idea of looking back on a certain year and remembering the things you have done every.single.day. That.would.be.cool. SO, regardless of the days I won't post a photo, I will still take a picture every single day whether I took it from my dad's Canon Powershot SX1IS or my urban gray Sony Ericsson camera. And if I am too busy to post a photo on a certain day, then no worries, I will just edit the date and time and put the photo there hehe. I don't see that as cheating... do you?

Well, hopefully I get better in photography! Thanks for visiting and reading! OH and make sure you check my other blog if you would like. I think I might post the rest of the pictures I took on a certain day on there and one unique photo on this blog. Well, that is all for today. Enjoy ;)
